Professional Experience
Mr. Lee is head of the Standards and Financial Market Integrity division for the Asia-Pacific region. He has held this role since 2004, leading the effort to promote high standards of professional conduct and financial market integrity in the region. Mr. Lee has co-written research papers on related-party transactions, executive compensation regulations and disclosures, and ethical practices relating to selling of financial products. He also conducts ethics training workshops for member societies in the Asia-Pacific region.
Mr. Lee joined CFA Institute in 1999 as a special projects director, making substantial contributions to the development of the CFA Program curriculum and exams and assisting in the organization's advocacy efforts. In January 2001, Mr. Lee relocated to Asia to head the CFA Institute regional office in Hong Kong. His key responsibilities were working with local societies and members to establish awareness and support for the CFA Program.
Prior to joining CFA Institute, Mr. Lee had 15 years of work experience as an accountant, auditor, and treasurer in industry and worked for six years with a securities regulator.
Professional Activities
Mr. Lee was the founding president of the Malaysian Society of Financial Analysts, a position he held from 1996 to 1999.
