Mr. DeAngelo holds a master's degree from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Franklin and Marshall College.
Professional Experience
Mr. DeAngelo is responsible for the Stakeholder Services, Marketing, and Communications division of CFA Institute. He directs the development and delivery of a wide array of services to CFA Institute members and member societies worldwide. Mr. DeAngelo spearheads the organization's domestic and global efforts to promote recognition of the CFA designation through public relations, communications, and advertising, and oversees management of the CFA Institute brand. Throughout his career with CFA Institute he has worked to integrate new offshore societies and members into the association.
Previously at CFA Institute, Mr. DeAngelo played a pivotal role in reshaping and relaunching the standard setting and policy arm of CFA Institute, with the aim to develop timely, practical solutions to global capital market issues. Working in conjunction with six advocacy committees, he was involved in ongoing contact with lawmakers, regulators, and standard setters to enhance the quality of corporate financial reporting, champion shareholder and bondholder rights, and develop improved proxy voting.
Prior to that, Mr. DeAngelo spent 10 years with The McGraw-Hill Companies, where he advanced through a series of divisional and company public affairs posts to direct corporate identity and public affairs programs for the global publishing and information services corporation. He articulated corporate positions on key issues to business and financial press and specialized media and served as a liaison with professional associations of key importance to the firm’s business interests.
