If you have a complaint against a CFA Institute member or candidate, you may:

Complaint Contents
To be investigated, complaints must include the following:

 

  • Description of the type of matter at issue

  • Sufficient information and documentation supporting the allegations in your complaint

  • Your name, address, e-mail, and/or phone number (we may need to contact you for more information or copies of documents)

     

Confidentiality
CFA Institute conducts all inquiries on a strictly confidential basis, as more fully described in the Rules of Procedure (PDF). This means:

 

  • Information sent to CFA Institute is kept confidential

  • All information from and about persons subject to an inquiry is kept confidential

  • You cannot receive information about the status or existence of an inquiry or about any information received from a member, charterholder, or candidate under inquiry
