Head, Global Communications

 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Refine and implement a comprehensive, targeted, and sustainable advertising and public relations program that supports the mission of CFA Institute
  • Create and execute large scale campaigns to expand awareness utilizing both traditional and new social media
  • Create and maintain crisis communication plan
  • Create, execute, and manage an internal and external communications strategy
  • Develop and implement public relations strategies to generate coverage in the financial media about CFA Institute and its designations; oversee the presentation of op eds, press releases, and other collateral materials; and integrate and support the overall organization strategy
  • Manage ongoing relationships with external public relations agencies and integrate and execute an overall public awareness strategy
  • Manage directly or via matrix reporting a staff of communications professionals

Position requires:

  • Advanced degree in relevant discipline
  • A minimum of eight years experience executing and managing communication programs, preferably to a global audience
  • Advanced writing, editing, and proofreading skills

Head, Market Research

 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Independently carry out assigned market research projects across business units and corporate marketing activities: planning, contracting outside vendors, directing, collecting, analysis, and reporting
  • Design market research questionnaires to best fit business issue needs
  • Communicate results of market research to Business Unit and Corporate marketing personnel
  • Present market research results, written and orally, and make objective recommendations based on market research, as needed
  • Develop and update customer segmentation models and/or geographic (North America, Europe, Asia Pacific) models as required
  • Utilize accepted Market Research methodologies, best practices, and standards
  • Evaluate market research reports within the context of other relevant material (competitor intelligence, forecasting model, secondary information, syndicated reports, and internal information)
  • Summarize annually all market research activity for distribution to leadership personnel
  • Evaluate vendors for market research, matching vendor expertise with the desired need, and negotiate with external vendors for high-quality market research services
  • Support the integration of separate market research reports into a cohesive understanding of our key markets

Position requires:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or advanced degree in relevant discipline
  • Minimum eight years of experience working in business analytics, market research, or business strategy with a core focus on quantitative research
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across groups
  • Ability to build partnerships and develop strong influence strategies
  • Understanding of how research is interconnected and ability to adjust plans as needed

Society Relations Representative Western Europe

 

Job responsibilities include: 

  • Serving as the primary contact for society leaders throughout Western Europe
  • Performing administrative support functions to and for society leaders in the Western European region with regard to the services, products, initiatives, and information that CFA Institute has for societies, and providing outreach and training
  • Promoting the Western European community through facilitating collaboration and communication between societies and supporting the development of new and existing societies
  • Serving as liaison to and working closely with colleagues in EMEA, US, and the Asia Pacific regions

Position requires: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with professional office experience in a service environment
  • Customer service and team oriented and professional demeanor
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and respond to changing demands

Head, Financial Accounting Policy

 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the principal thought leader and spokesperson on financial reporting issues
  • Maintain and improve relationships with key financial reporting standard setters including IASB, FASB, and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
  • Identify and prioritize issues for consideration and review by the Corporate Disclosure Policy Council (CDPC), and evaluate and coordinate completion of selected consultations to global standard setters including review by managing director, internal staff, CDPC committee volunteers, and where indicated consult with other CFA Institute professional contacts, members, and CFA societies
  • Coordinate and support the activities of the financial reporting policy group (FRPG) staff, including staff development, conduct of research, development of well-articulated arguments and policy papers, and report on FRPG activities to the CFA Centre’s managing director and other constituencies
  • Manage, monitor, and review activities of the CDPC, including ongoing identification of volunteer support and periodic engagement with standard-setting authorities
  • Assist CFA Institute managers, as needed, in serving on industry committees and personally conduct outreach to media and other industry organizations to discuss and promote Centre content and other financial reporting policies including support for related public awareness activities

Position requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, accounting or finance desirable
  • Graduate degree in related field highly desirable
  • Certified Public Accountant, or Chartered Accountant, and/or CFA charter
  • Substantive and relevant experience in financial reporting as an auditor, preparer, financial analyst, and/or standard-setter or regulator
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial reporting policy making and familiarity with global standard setters including FASB and IASB
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in the investment and/or business professions generally
  • Demonstrated project management skills

Administrative Assistant

 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the coordination of communications, events, and meetings, including preparing and sending out mailings, handling invitation mailshots, and receiving, recording, and classifying the responses
  • Provide meeting support and administration, including arranging conference calls, organizing rooms, and coordinating diaries
  • Provide administrative support to allocated managers, including filing expenses, managing diaries, and arranging meetings
  • Make travel and accommodation arrangements for staff, including overseas travel, negotiating program sequences, and drafting itineraries
  • Monitor allocated managers’ phones, voicemails, and e-mails
  • Provide data entry support to allocated staff and managers

Position requires:

  • Secondary school education leading to minimum 6 GCSEs and 2 ‘A’ levels
  • Administration training leading to advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and office systems and practices including filing, record storage techniques, and good typing skills
  • Minimum three years experience in the development of good client-oriented skills formed from regular dealing with external clients, plus experience working for senior management

Office Manager

 

Job responsibilities include: 

  • Logging and settlement of all invoices and payments and responsible for compiling end-of-month statements
  • Managing accounts with providers of goods and services
  • Managing the petty cash account and assisting in the management of the UK bank account
  • Preparing the annual office budget
  • Supervision of administrative support staff
  • Managing office facilities including the purchase of office equipment (IT or furniture) and stationery; negotiating office leases and securing office space as needed/directed
  • Local HR involvement in coordination with US office
  • Providing information / assistance to candidates’ and members’ queries about CFA Institute and examination program.

Position requires:
