Philip Lawton, CFA, CIPM
Head, CIPM Program
Education
Mr. Lawton earned a doctorate in philosophy in the French-speaking section of The Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, and an MBA degree with a concentration in finance at Northeastern University.
Designation
Mr. Lawton received the CFA designation in 1983. The CIPM Advisory Council awarded him the CIPM designation in 2007 in recognition for his work to develop the CIPM Program worldwide.
Professional Experience
Mr. Lawton is head of the CIPM program in the CFA and CIPM Programs Division of CFA Institute. His previous experience includes serving as vice president at State Street Analytics, where he supported the investment consulting firms that belong to the Independent Consultants Cooperative, and Citibank, where he headed U.S. performance measurement in Worldwide Securities Services.
Professional Activities
He is a member of the Society for Business Ethics.
