Arriving and Departing If you are arriving and departing via air travel, you are likely to travel via Suvarnabhumi (Su-wan-na-poom) International Airport. There is no airport express or train linking the new airport and Bangkok city yet.
Ground transportation from the airport
Airport Buses Air-conditioned buses are running. The fare is 150 baht/person for the entire route. Passengers can get on the bus on the first floor of the terminal. You can make enquires at the bus stand about your destination prior buying your tickets. The four routes are as follows:
City Buses
Twelve city bus routes operated by Bangkok Mass Transit Authority
(BMTA) serve the airport's dedicated bus terminal. City buses offer
a cheaper alternative of 35 baht flat fare, compared with the
airport express bus. It is not advisable for visitors to take these
buses for the bus drivers/conductors normally speak Thai. Most
importantly, the local bus route are normally long and
time-consuming.
Taxi
Getting Around the City BTS SkyTrain and the underground MRT are convenient ways to get around Bangkok if you are staying along the lines.
It's a good practice to use the trains to connect with local metered taxis. Local taxis come in different colors (blue-yellow, blue, pink, yellow, green). The meter starts at 35 THB for the first 2 km. View a taxi cost guide.
If you are traveling without luggage, it is okay to squeeze four to five people in a taxi (say on the exam date). If you are traveling from the airport, it is advisable to have a maximum of three person in a taxi for there is little space in the taxi's trunk for your luggage.
Traffic is quite heavy throughout Bangkok from Monday−Saturday (especially during rush hours), so plan extra time if you have appointment.

On your exam day, Sunday, you can take the BTS SkyTrain to On-Nut station and change to a taxi there. Shuttle bus service will be available between On-Nut station and BITEC. Alternatively, you can share a taxi with your friends to BITEC directly. The traffic on a typical Sunday morning is relatively less hectic. BITEC (Bangkok International Trade Exhibition Center) is one of the largest exhibition centers in Bangkok. It is located on Bangna-Trad Highway KM 1 (inbound). BITEC is located along a major highway so it is not pedestrian-friendly. Most people get to BITEC by private car or public taxi. It is not advisable to take a public bus, unless you are familiar with the bus system, since you might get lost along the way. If you are traveling by public taxi, tell the taxi driver “BITEC Bangna.” (Bangna is the district where the exhibition center is located).
