Members of the Corporate Disclosure Policy Council (CDPC) and the staff of the Financial Reporting Policy Group meet regularly with national and international standard setters and security regulators.

 

FASB User Advisory Council

1 May 2007

Georgene Palacky, member of the UAC and director of the Financial Reporting Policy Group, met with other members of the User Advisory Council to review approaches to distinguishing liability from equity, alternatives to the current hedge accounting mode in Statement 33 and new research activities and initiatives.

SEC Office of the Chief Accountant

9 April 2007

Members of the CDPC met with the U.S. SEC to discuss the (IFRS) roadmap, Sarbanes Oxley implementation, materiality (SAB 99), and other issues relating to financial reporting.

 

IASB

16 March 2007

CDPC members met with some members and staff of the IASB to discuss the recent CFA Institute survey on financial reporting and measurement, the final draft of the Comprehensive Business Reporting Model, and the CFA Institute Centre's position on conceptual framework.

 

European Regulators

16 February 2007

Georgene Palacky met with security regulators in Europe to discuss financial reporting issues, including the convergence of IFRS and US GAAP, audit quality and auditors' liability, and other developing issues.

 

FASB

17 October 2006

The CDPC met with the FASB to discuss the results of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council survey, fair value, and other financial reporting issues.
