What do you think are the benefits of having the CFA charter?

My professional goals have been shaped by my CFA designation studies. Every day I am able to apply what I’ve learned in my studies to my position as an investment officer. The CFA designation affords a reputational capital that few accomplishments can. My hope is that this benefit accrues not only to me personally but to the firm as a whole.

For me, it is a strong foundation on which to build further knowledge and base further success. Having universal and not one-sided knowledge allows me to help colleagues when nobody else can. For my employees, it shows that I have a minimum amount of knowledge and ethics that I can build upon and help the organization succeed. For the clients, I believe it is mostly the ethical aspects of the charter because they can be certain to receive fair treatment.

It's a signal to colleagues, employers, and clients that I am capable and willing to work and have ethical standards.

It makes available career opportunities that may have not been possible without the CFA charter. Furthermore, it provides you with a competitive edge.
