Application Details
After an application is received and approved, an official acceptance e-mail is sent if all entrance requirements are met. If you do not receive an official acceptance e-mail or notice of incomplete application within two to three weeks after submitting your application, you should contact us.
Incomplete Applications
Applications are considered incomplete if any information required for entrance is not provided, if the Professional Conduct Inquiry and Candidate Responsibility Statement are not completed and signed, and/or if appropriate payment is not submitted along with the correct form. Applicants submitting incomplete applications will be sent only one notice from CFA Institute.
Completed applications must be received by CFA Institute within 30 days of the date on the written notice. Therefore, missing information and/or items should be sent via overnight carrier or fax to avoid mailing delays. Applicants should check their status by contacting us within two weeks of submitting this information.
Some specific examples of incomplete applications are:
- Credit card is denied or incomplete payment is submitted
- Education section of the form is unclear or incomplete
- Test center is not selected
- Form is sent without payment
- Wrong or outdated form is submitted
- Missing signature
If an applicant/candidate does not properly complete the application within the designated time period or meet the entrance requirements, the application will be cancelled and the applicant/candidate will receive a reimbursement of all current registration and exam enrollment fees. Applicants/candidates with denied credit cards or no payments will not receive a refund and will be cancelled from the program. Applicants/candidates with cancelled applications will not be eligible to sit for the current exam unless a new complete registration and enrollment form is submitted by the stated deadlines and all current fees are paid.
