Preparatory Products and
Services
Before you decide on a prep product, do your homework.
Candidates should be able to succeed on the exams by studying the CFA Program curriculum readings and mastering the Learning Outcome Statements (LOS). Some candidates, however, may benefit from using prep courses and/or review notes. But these materials should be used as a supplement, not a substitute, for study of the prescribed curriculum.
Be sure to talk to other candidates
Your best insight can come from those with experience. There are numerous CFA candidate online discussion boards, and most local CFA Institute member societies can help you get in touch with other candidates in your area. Ask fellow candidates what has, and has not, worked for them. Become an informed consumer. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Prep Provider Guidelines Program
Our Prep Provider Guidelines Program was established as a way for providers of prep programs, products, and services to improve their educational process. Better and more accurate information should help candidates make more informed decisions when selecting preparatory products and services.
Providers participating in the program agree to follow guidelines and high standards in their promotions and communications to candidates. Look for the "Follows CFA Institute Prep Provider Guidelines" tagline in participating provider materials.
Your Local Society
Your local society can be a valuable resource to help you select the right preparatory tool to supplement your curriculum study. Many member societies work with providers to offer a variety of learning options. Some societies also develop their own educational materials and organize study programs.
CFA Institute does not endorse, promote, review, or warrant the accuracy of the products or services offered by any provider.
