Who is eligible?
Societies determine their own criteria for selecting scholarship recipients. Discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, or nationality is prohibited. Some suggestions for criteria include financial need, scholastic grades, or essays. Scholarships cannot be awarded to society officers, directors, or employees, or their immediate families. Applicants must fulfill all CFA candidate requirements. Contact a member society for details.
How many scholarships can a society award?
A society may award a maximum of 10 scholarships per fiscal year. Each fiscal year includes the December exam and the June exam of the following year. Not all societies award scholarships for both the June and December exams.
What does the scholarship cover?
The CFA Program enrollment fee is waived and the registration fee is discounted. Society scholars pay only US$220. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Scholarships cannot be deferred to another exam offering. The exam registration fee includes the CFA Program curriculum.
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, and JCB are accepted. CFA Institute does not accept Discover, debit cards, or other cards and does not invoice for payment. Checks and money orders are accepted. If you have already enrolled and registered for the current exam offering, you may request a refund in the appropriate section of the Scholarship Verification Form.
