Curriculum
The CIPM curriculum emphasizes the application of investment principles and is based on a body of knowledge defined by global best practices in investment performance evaluation and presentation.
You should view the curriculum primarily as a means of enhancing your abilities as a performance professional and secondarily as a way of preparing for the exam.
The CIPM curriculum is delivered through a combination of online courseware and downloadable PDFs. It includes:
Topic-level learning objectives: Give an overview of the material and indicate the depth of knowledge expected; these objectives are intentionally broad and are not tested; they describe the learning expected in each major topic area at a particular level of the exam
Learning outcome statements (LOS): Study session- and/or reading-specific objectives that indicate the level of knowledge candidates are expected to gain from each lesson for the exam
Reading assignments: Reflect topic areas to be covered from the body of knowledge at a particular exam level
All of this is released in November of each year.
