Dan Ariely is James B. Duke Professor of Behavioral Economics at Duke University, with appointments at the Fuqua School of Business, the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience, and the Department of Economics. He is the author of the book Predictably Irrational, and he has won numerous scientific awards. Professor Ariely’s work has been featured in leading scholarly journals and a variety of popular media outlets, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and Scientific American. He holds master’s and doctorate degrees in cognitive psychology from the University of North Carolina and a doctorate degree in business administration from Duke University.
