Abstract

CFA Institute polled its members in the European Union and Switzerland to find out their opinions on a proposal exploring the feasibility of common issuance of sovereign bonds in the Member States of the euro area. The results show that the members believe these “Eurobonds” can help alleviate the debt crisis, but only as part of a package of structural reforms, fiscal integration and a strong common governance framework.
