CFA Institute Centre News
Senior Staff Represent Member Views
Throughout the fall, the pace of financial market reform has continued unabated. In the United States, Congress has introduced several bills and CFA Institute Centre for Financial Market Integrity staff have visited Capitol Hill multiple times to present member views and urge reforms that represent investor interests. Centre staff, including James Allen, CFA, head, Capital Markets Policy, and Centre managing director Kurt Schacht, CFA, have provided testimony and background information to several committees on issues ranging from fiduciary duty laws to credit-rating agency reforms. Most recently, CFA Institute staff accompanied former U.S. SEC chairman Bill Donaldson, CFA, and Ira Millstein of Yale University to meet with key U.S. Senate Banking Committee members and staff who are reviewing systemic risk provisions in the reform legislation introduced by Senator Christopher Dodd.
