Clifford S. Asness

Clifford S. Asness is managing and founding principal at AQR Capital Management, LLC. Previously, he was managing director and a director of quantitative research for the asset management division at Goldman Sachs. Dr. Asness serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Portfolio Management and the Financial Analysts Journal and the governing board of the Courant Institute of Mathematical Finance at New York University. He has received the James R. Vertin Award from the Research Foundation of CFA Institute for producing a body of research notable for its relevance and enduring value to investment professionals in addition to other awards given for his written articles. Dr. Asness holds a BS from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a BS from the Moore School of Electrical Engineering, and an MBA and a PhD from the University of Chicago.

Christopher J. Brightman, CFA

Christopher J. Brightman, CFA, is CEO of University of Virginia Investment Management Company. Previously, he was chief investment officer at Strategic Investment Group, head of equity strategy at UBS Asset Management, vice president and manager of asset/liability management at Maryland National Bank, and associate national bank examiner at the Comptroller of the Currency. Mr. Brightman currently serves as chairman of the board for The Investment Fund for Foundations and is a member of the investment advisory committee of the Virginia Retirement System. He holds a BS from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Loyola College.

Peter Douglas, CAIA

Peter Douglas, CAIA, is the founder and principal of GFIA Pte Ltd, which manages the Wittenham range of funds-of-funds, investing in skill-based managers in Asia and emerging markets globally. Previously, he worked for Aberdeen Asset Management. Mr. Douglas is a director of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association. He is a council member of the Alternative Investment Management Association, representing the Asia-Pacific region and was a founder of the Financial Planning Association of Singapore. Mr. Douglas holds a BA in medieval studies from the University of Exeter and an MBA from INSEAD. 

Ho HoHo Ho is a quantitative portfolio manager in the global equity unit of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS). Previously, he was derivatives manager for Transamerica Life Insurance Company and manager of the structured finance consulting group at KPMG. Mr. Ho’s work includes the development of systems used for hedge fund risk management and portfolio construction, external manager portfolio construction and analytics, and a quantitative approach to global equity allocation decisions. He holds a BA in economics from the University of California, Irvine, and an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago.

Robert E. Kiernan III Robert E. Kiernan III is CEO of Advanced Portfolio Management LLC. Previously, he held management positions at Salomon Brothers and Lehman Brothers, where he was a member of several investment, commitment, and operating committees. Mr. Kiernan is a member of the Research Review Board of the Research Foundation of CFA Institute. He holds AB and AM degrees from Boston College as well as an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Michael P. Lustig

Michael P. Lustig is managing director at BlackRock, Inc., and a senior member of BlackRock’s Financial Advisory Group within BlackRock Solutions. He also provides lectures on fixed-income derivatives at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business and Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr. Lustig was a portfolio manager at Kleinwort Benson Investment Management (now Dresdner) and an associate in the financial strategies and investment analysis division of Security Pacific Merchant Bank (now Bank of America Capital Markets). He holds a BA in computer science and art history from Columbia University.

Khaled Abdel MajeedKhaled Abdel Majeed is managing partner of MENA Capital. Previously, he worked as deputy head of the investment management group at Arab Bank, chief investment officer at EFG-Hermes Asset Management, and director at Blakeney Management. Mr. Majeed’s work has focused on stock markets in the Middle East and North Africa. He holds a BA in economics from Tufts University and an MBA from Columbia University.

Neal Moszkowski Neal Moszkowski is founder and co-CEO of TowerBrook Capital Partners (TCP), LP, and co-chairman of the TCP investment committee. Previously, he was co-head of Soros Private Equity Partners, a member of the management committee of Soros Fund Management, and a member of the principal investment area of Goldman Sachs in London and New York. Mr. Moszkowski holds a BA from Amherst College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Jamie Raboy

Jamie Raboy is a senior managing director and chief risk officer at Marathon Asset Management, LLC. Previously, he traded fixed-income derivatives at Salomon Smith Barney and worked as a controller responsible for financial control and analysis in the brokerage and operations group at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Raboy is a member of Marathon’s executive committee and focuses on monitoring, reporting, and evaluating investment risk. He holds a BA degree from Columbia University and an MBA degree with a focus on financial engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Ted Seides, CFA Ted Seides, CFA, is the co-founder and senior managing director of investments at Protégé Partners, LLC. Previously, he was a senior associate at J.H. Whitney & Company before working as a research analyst for their long/short hedge fund, the Green River Fund. Mr. Seides has written guest columns for Peter L. Bernstein’s Economics & Portfolio Strategy newsletter and was a subject of the Harvard Business School case study "Protégé Partners: The Capacity Challenge." He holds a BA from Yale University with distinction in the economics and political science major and an MBA with honors from Harvard Business School. 

Anthony Stalker

Anthony Stalker is a partner at ADM Capital Europe LLP and a member of the ADM Capital investment committee. Previously, he held positions at Merrill Lynch as head of equities for Asia Pacific and head of equity sales for Asia, and he worked in the U.S. equity sales group at First Boston. Mr. Stalker’s past business responsibilities have included the global distribution of equity and equity-related products, including cash equity sales, equity derivative sales, and structured products for Asia, Japan, and Australia. He holds an MA from Cambridge University and an MBA from the University of California.

John Trammell

John Trammell is president of Cadogan Management. Previously, he was CEO of Investor Select Advisors and chief operating officer of Argonaut Capital Management. Mr. Trammell began his career with the Hudson Institute, a New York-based think tank, where he served as a primary economic research assistant to Herman Kahn. He holds a BA in history and economics from DePauw University and studied at Waseda University.

Jeffrey A. WeberJeffrey A. Weber is president and managing partner of York Capital Management and portfolio manager of York’s Total Return Funds. Previously, he was president and CEO of William A.M. Burden & Co. and an associate at Chemical Venture Partners. Mr. Weber currently serves on the board of directors of iStar Financial and the York Enhanced Strategies Fund. He also serves on the board of the Carter Burden Center for the Aging and the department of medicine advisory board at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Mr. Weber holds a BA in history of ideas from Williams College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
