Fred H. Speece, Jr., CFA, is a founder of the investment management firm Speece Thorson Capital Group, Inc. He is past chair of the Board of Governors of CFA Institute, the Board of Trustees of the Research Foundation of CFA Institute, the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts, and the Financial Analysts Seminar. CFA Institute awarded Mr. Speece with the Alfred C. Morley Distinguished Service Award and the C. Stewart Sheppard Leadership Award. He is a trustee emeritus of the Research Foundation of CFA Institute. Mr. Speece holds a BBA degree from Ohio University and an MBA degree from Western Michigan University. |
Whitney Tilson is founder and managing partner of T2 Partners LLC and the Tilson Mutual Funds. He is also co-founder, chairman and co-editor-in-chief of Value Investor Insight, an investment newsletter, and co-founder and chairman of the Value Investing Congress, a biannual investment conference. Mr. Tilson’s written work includes articles written for the Motley Fool and TheStreet.com as well as a regular column on value investing for the Financial Times and Kiplinger’s. He has spoken widely on value investing and behavioral finance and has been profiled by the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post. Jason DeSena Trennert is managing partner and chief investment strategist of Strategas Research Partners. Previously, he was chief investment strategist and senior managing director at International Strategy and Investment Group. Mr. Trennert is a regular guest host on CNBC's “Squawk Box,” and he has been a special guest on “Kudlow & Cramer” (now “Kudlow & Company”) and “Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser.” He is the author of the book New Markets, New Strategies. Mr. Trennert holds an MBA degree in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BSFS degree in international economics from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. |
Amit B. Wadhwaney is a senior member of the Third Avenue Management investment team and a portfolio manager for Third Avenue Management’s private and institutional advisory business. Additionally, he is portfolio manager of Third Avenue Global Value Fund. Previously, Mr. Wadhwaney was portfolio manager of the Carl Marks Global Value Fund and a principal of Glenrock Asset Management Associates. His securities analyst career includes time spent focusing on paper and forest products as well as the newsprint, pulp, and fine paper industries. Mr. Wadhwaney holds BS degrees in chemical engineering and mathematics from the University of Minnesota, BA and MA degrees in economics from Concordia University, and an MBA degree in finance from the University of Chicago. |
David A. Zion, CFA, is a managing director of Credit Suisse in the investment banking division, where he is a senior analyst responsible for accounting research coverage. Previously, he was a core member of the accounting research team at Bear Stearns and worked at Deloitte & Touche. In his current role, Mr. Zion examines the investment implications of accounting issues. He has been quoted in the press and is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer on accounting and tax issues. Mr. Zion is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a degree in accounting from Binghamton University. |






Aswath
Damodaran is professor of finance and David Margolis
Teaching Fellow at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business
at New York University. He has authored articles in such
publications as the Journal of Financial and Quantitative
Analysis and the Journal of Finance.
Additionally, Professor Damodaran is the author of a number of
books and is the co-editor of the book Investment
Management with Peter Bernstein. He is a five-time recipient of
the Stern School of Business Excellence in Teaching Award (awarded
by the graduating class) and was the youngest winner of the
University-wide Distinguished Teaching Award in 1990. Professor
Damodaran holds MBA and PhD degrees from
the University of California at Los
Angeles.
James E. Delisle
Jr., CFA, is co–portfolio manager of global financial funds at
Cambridge Place Investment Management. Previously, he founded and
managed Independent Perspectives, an independent equity research
firm, and managed its spin-out financial hedge fund, Paid Vega
LP. Mr. Delisle has traded and sold a variety of financial
instruments including money market securities, U.S. Treasuries,
corporate bonds, and mortgages and their derivatives. He holds a BA
degree from Dartmouth College.
Martin S. Fridson,
CFA, is founder, CEO, and co-chief investment officer of
Fridson Investment Advisors, a research-driven investment
management firm specializing in corporate credit opportunities. He
is the author of six books and a former board member of CFA
Institute, the New York Society of Security Analysts, and the
Financial Management Association. Mr. Fridson currently serves on
the editorial board of the Financial Analysts Journal. In
2000, he became the youngest person ever inducted into the Fixed
Income Analysts Society Hall of Fame, and in 2002, the Financial
Management Association International named him Financial Executive
of the Year. Mr. Fridson holds a BA in history from Harvard College
and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Robert Haugen is
CEO of Haugen Custom Financial Systems. Previously, he held endowed
chairs and taught at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the University of
California, Irvine. Dr. Haugen has written a number of books,
including The Inefficient Stock Market and The New
Finance, and he has published articles in publications such as
the Journal of Financial Economics and Journal of
Business. He has also made guest appearances on several
television networks including CNN, NBC, and CBS. Dr. Haugen holds a
PhD degree in finance from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign.
Guy Moszkowski, CFA,
is managing director at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc, where he is
the senior banks and broker/dealer equity analyst, covering
multinational banks with a capital market focus. He also serves as
financial services sector head for Merrill’s U.S. equity research
department. Previously, Mr. Moszkowski was senior broker and
asset-managers analyst at Citigroup and worked in the investor
client management group at JP Morgan. He has been named in five of
the annual Wall Street Journal “Best on the Street” surveys.
Mr. Moszkowski holds a BS degree with a major in finance from the
University of Pennsylvania and an MBA degree from Harvard
University.
