CFA® Program bridges current industry practice, investment theory and ethical and professional standards to give you a strong foundation of advanced investment analysis and real-world portfolio management skills.

Which roles does it prepare you for? Investment decision-making and strategy, portfolio and wealth management, institutional investing, and investment analysis
How many exams? Three exams (Level I, II, and III)
What is the minimum amount of time it takes to complete the exams? Minimum of 2 years
What is required to enter the program? You must have one of the following:
  • Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree
  • Be in the final year of bachelor’s degree program
  • Have four years professional work experience
  • Have a combination of professional work and university experience that totals at least four years
What is required to complete the program?
  • Successfully pass the three exams
  • Have four years professional work experience in the investment decision-making process
  • Join CFA Institute as a regular member
Professional experience may be accrued before, during, or after participation in the CFA exams.

CIPM® program offers in-depth, practice-based skills for effective investment performance and risk evaluation, manager appraisal and selection, performance attribution, and communication of investment results.

Which roles does it prepare you for? Investment performance and risk evaluation, risk management, financial planning, manager search and selection, investment analysis, and client relations
How many exams? Two exams (Principles and Expert)
What is the minimum amount of time it takes to complete the exams? Minimum of 1 year
What is required to enter the program? None
What is required to complete the program?
  • Successfully pass the two exams
  • Have two years of specific professional experience in investment performance-related activities or four years in the investment decision-making process
  • Join the CIPM Association
Professional experience may be accrued before, during, or after participation in the CIPM exams.
