How to Use Your Digital Badge

We distribute digital badges on a regular basis via our digital badge vendor, Basno. New badge holders will receive an email from cfainstitute.org@basno.com on behalf of info@cfainstitute.org.

Claim your badge:

  1. Select “claim your badge” within the email. This will direct you to the Basno website.
  2. Register with Basno using your Facebook account or email address.
  3. Once registered you will be redirected to your digital badge page where you may claim your badge and share it via Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn and/or Pinterest. You may also share the badge URL directly.

Add your badge to your LinkedIn profile:

  • Log in to your Basno account and select your badge
  • Select “Add to LinkedIn” in the upper right-hand corner and follow the instructions.

Twitter

You may only include ", CFA" and/or ", CIPM" after your name if you continue to meet the membership requirements as defined in the CFA Institute Articles and Bylaws (PDF) and previously were awarded the CFA or CIPM designations. The CFA and CIPM designations:

  • Should not be included in your Twitter handle, e.g. not @JohnSmithCFA or @MaryJonesCIPM
  • Should only appear in the section of your profile that contains your surname and given name
  • Should not be included with a pseudonym or fictitious phrase meant to hide your identity

LinkedIn

The Certifications section of your LinkedIn profile is specifically designed to display professional certifications and credentials, and is the most appropriate place to display your status as a CFA charterholder, Investment Foundations certificate holder, or CIPM certificant.

The Experience section is for displaying your employment experience. To avoid giving the impression that you are an employee of CFA Institute, do not list your CFA Institute professional credential or candidacy in this section.

Find your designation and follow the step-by-step instructions provided below.
