As committee opportunities become available, they will be posted below. A sampling of other common forms of engagement where your skills and expertise can make an impact are also described below. Our first source for filling all volunteer opportunities is our database of members who have indicated their interest.
If you are interested in volunteering now or at a later date, please ensure that the Volunteer Interest Profile and Professional Profiles in your account are up to date. Learn how.

Research Challenge Opportunities
Volunteers play a huge part in the success of the Research Challenge. Every year, hundreds of volunteers all over the world donate their time and expertise to this exciting event. Volunteer opportunities include:
- Organizing a local challenge
- Mentoring students
- Grading research reports
- Judging student presentations
If you would like to learn more about available volunteer opportunities, please contact your local society or the Research Challenge team.
Collaborate in Online Communities
Short-term volunteer opportunities vary widely in nature and can arise at any time, as projects, issues, and work groups identify opportunities to tap into our members’ expertise.
If any of these opportunities look like a good match with the information in your volunteer profile, we will contact you to see if you’re interested.
Paid Contributor Roles
Some roles, particularly highly confidential positions such as exam graders, may be paid contributor roles rather than volunteer (unpaid) opportunities. Because these roles are subject to work eligibility laws and employment agreements, they are not handled through the volunteer program. (If your primary interest is in grading CFA exams, request application instructions from the graders team.) Contact the graders team.
If your volunteer profile suggests you may be qualified for a paid contributor role, we will share that information with the hiring team so they can notify you when opportunities arise.
We strive to create positive change within the investment industry. By volunteering at the local level, you’re helping achieve this goal in your own community. It also offers you a great chance to network with fellow professionals, mentor students, and attend insightful and engaging industry events.
Each society recruits its own volunteers, so please contact the society nearest you and offer to serve as a volunteer.
