Robert G. Hagstrom, CFA, is a senior portfolio manager at EquityCompass, where he launched the Global Leaders Portfolio. In addition, he serves as chairman of the Investment Management Committee for Stifel Asset Management. Mr. Hagstrom has more than 30 years of investment experience. Previously, he was the chief investment strategist at Legg Mason Investment Counsel and, before that, the portfolio manager of the Growth Equity Strategy at Legg Mason Capital Management. Mr. Hagstrom has also served as president and chief investment officer of Legg Mason Focus Capital, general partner of Focus Capital Advisory, and principal at Lloyd Leith & Sawin. He is the author of nine investment books, including the New York Times bestseller The Warren Buffett Way, which considers how Warren Buffett analyzes stocks and makes investment decisions. Mr. Hagstrom received honorable mention as Morningstar’s US Equity Manager of the Year in 2007. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s of arts degrees from Villanova University.
