Requirements to Practice
Licensing requirements have been imposed for five distinct categories for financial professionals:
- Portfolio managers
- Investment advisers
- Registered representatives
Acquiring any of these licenses involves a number of steps (including obtaining proof of professional experience, paying a fee, and completing an application) as well as passing an exam administered by the Hellenic Republic Capital Market Commission. Doing business in any of the categories requires licenses for each.
CFA charterholders are exempt from the regulatory exam when applying for an analyst license.
