The Jersey Financial Services Commission is responsible for the regulation, supervision and development of the financial services industry in the Island of Jersey.
Requirements to Practice
The Codes of Practice for Investment Business (the “IB Codes”) require that any investment employee providing investment advice to Retail Clients must hold an appropriate professional qualification at Qualifications and Credit Framework level 4 or above, or level 3 with gap-fill where relevant. The Jersey Financial Services Commission provides a list of professional qualifications that are acceptable to the Commission.
The CFA Program is listed on the Table of Acceptable Professional Qualifications for Investment Business. The following combinations are listed as sufficient for a qualification in managing, dealing, and advising both professional clients and retail clients:
- CFA charter plus Investment Management Certificate (Level 4) Unit 1
- CFA Program Level I plus Investment Management Certificate (Level 3) (Requires gap-fill for qualification to advise retail clients)
- CFA Program Level I plus Investment Management Certificate (Level 4)
