Investment Foundations CPE Credit for CPAs (US)

Many state licensing boards in the United States require that Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) earn continuing professional education (CPE) credits to maintain their license.

CFA Institute has been approved by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) to offer CPAs the Investment Foundations Program self-study course for CPE credit.

The Investment Foundations Program is approved for CPAs who want to gain a clear understanding of the global investment industry and also earn 36.5 CPE credits in the Finance field of study.

The Investment Foundations course of study covers topics such as ethics and regulations, inputs and tools, investment instruments, serving client needs, and industry structure and controls. Review the Investment Foundations syllabus (PDF).

To earn the Investment Foundations certificate and be awarded 36.5 NASBA CPE credits, candidates must take and pass two exams: (1) the Investment Foundations CPE exam, and (2) the Investment Foundations Exam.
