IPCs serve the hotel, industrial, mixed-use, office, retail, and residential property sectors. CFA® charterholders and candidates can build rewarding careers in IPCs in several areas, including capital markets, valuations, and feasibility.

Nikhil Shah CFA

Nikhil Shah is leading the hospitality transaction vertical at Colliers International. Shah has 15 years of experience in the banking and hospitality sector. At his prior firm, Mahajan & Aibara, he led transaction advisory along with valuation and feasibility studies. He also worked with private equity–funded hotel groups in the mid-market segment to expand their footprint across India and raise funds. Shah is an expert in hotel transactions, including acquisitions, sales, lease and operator search, and management contracts.

Shah completed a bachelor’s degree from Narsee Monjee College and an MBA in finance from Chetana Institute of Management and Research. He is a CFA charterholder from CFA Institute.

Dr. Monika Chopra is a faculty member at the International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi. She is also the chair of the PGDM Banking and Financial Services (BFS) Program at IMI. She teaches courses on business valuation, corporate finance, and financial analysis. During her academic career of 17 years, she has authored 16 research papers and six case studies and has edited three books. As a part of her corporate interface, she has conducted various workshops on “Finance for Non-Finance Executives” and various management development programs for government organizations, including Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), Indraprastha Power Generation Company (IPGCL), and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), on such issues as valuation in mergers and acquisitions and financial analysis as well as on analysing red flags and earnings quality.

Chopra holds a doctorate and is a CFA® charterholder. She has studied with Professor Damodaran and has completed business valuation and investment philosophy certifications under his guidance. As a regular member of CFA institute, she is a volunteer in the Advocacy committee as well as the core committee of CFA Institute research challenge in India. She is also the India representative for CFA Asia Research Pacific Exchange (ARX) in India.
