Renew Your Membership
CFA charterholders, you must renew your membership to maintain your CFA designation. Each year, you will need to complete the following steps.

Pay your dues* Each year, you must pay your annual dues to renew your membership.

Read and file a Professional Conduct Statement and Membership Agreement Annually, you must complete a Professional Conduct Statement to disclose any potential violations of the Code and Standards. You must also file your Membership Agreement.

Review the following policies and procedures**
* The membership period runs from 1 July to 30 June. CFA Institute and Society dues are non-refundable and non-transferable.
** Failure to comply with CFA Institute conditions, requirements, policies, and procedures can result in disciplinary sanctions, including suspension or revocation of the right to use the CFA designation.
Not Currently Employed in the Financial Profession?
Professional Leave is available to any member not working in a job qualifying for regular membership who has been an active member for at least 5 years (years do not need to be consecutive).
Professional Leave can be granted for the following reasons:
- Change of Profession
- Family, Health, Personal
- Currently Unemployed
- Full-Time Student
- Retired
Those who meet the requirements for Professional Leave status may qualify for the reduced CFA Institute membership rate of USD $100 upon review and approval. Society rates will vary by society.
