Bloomberg for Education and CFA Institute Launch CFAPRO Database

Bloomberg for Education and CFA Institute today announced CFAPRO on the Bloomberg Terminal, a function that matches the Learning Outcome Statements of the CFA® Program to Bloomberg data, news and analytics. Those with access to a Bloomberg Terminal can review the database by typing {CFAPRO<GO>}.

Interest in the CFA® Program has increased 28 percent globally over the past five years, especially in mainland China, India, and Brazil, according to CFA Institute. To help address the demand and support candidate learning, Bloomberg for Education reviewed all Learning Outcome Statements (LOS) of the CFA® Program and identified 387 Bloomberg Terminal functions that map to the majority of the concepts. The result, CFAPRO, is a database that connects theory to practice.

This partnership builds on existing efforts between Bloomberg and CFA Institute to cultivate the next generation of investment management professionals. Bloomberg Terminals currently power the work of 5,900 students worldwide participating in the CFA Institute Research Challenge. Students at over 1,100 universities are competing now to showcase their skills as financial analysts, all aiming to advance to competitions in Boston (March 19-20), Dublin (April 4-5), and Kuala Lumpur (April 25-26).

Bloomberg for Education helps universities, deans, and professors give students the experiential learning needed to compete for business and finance jobs. More than 800 universities worldwide have a Bloomberg Terminal or Bloomberg Finance Lab.

The CFA® Program provides a foundation of advanced investment analysis and real-world portfolio management skills. Completing the CFA® Program earns candidates the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) credential, and demonstrates mastery in a broad range of practical portfolio management and advanced investment analysis skills.
