Recommend a Candidate for the Board of Governors

The Nominating Committee, chaired by Robert Jenkins, FSIP, is soliciting recommendations for individuals to serve on the CFA Institute Board of Governors for a three-year term beginning 1 September 2019.

Self-nominate or recommend a candidate by completing the Governor Recommendation Form by 12 October 2018.

Qualifications and Expected Duties

Here is an overview of a governor’s role and responsibilities.

In advance of this governor recruitment cycle, the Board has reviewed both the likely number of vacancies and skill sets that would be needed in the coming two years. Accordingly, the Board has directed the Nominating Committee to give priority in its search process to the following:

  • Information technology expertise
  • Gender diversity
  • Senior professionals with expertise in and knowledge of the European market place
  • Public company board expertise and corporate governance expertise

In addition, the Nominating Committee is requested to work to achieve a total board size within the range of 12 to 15 governors. The Board currently has 15 sitting governors. Four governors will either retire or reach the end of their first term as of 31 August 2019.
