Who is eligible for Professional membership?

To join CFA Institute as a Professional member, you must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent education and 4,000 hours of work experience. You must receive a passing score for the Level I CFA Exam, CIPM® Program Level II Exam, RBA Netherlands exam, the self-administered Standards of Practice exam, or hold the ASIP designation.

    If you have completed 4,000 hours of relevant work experience over at least 36 months and meet the education and exam requirements, Professional membership is a great way to stay connected and advance your career. Learn more at Application resources.

    You must also have a bachelor's degree or equivalent education or work experience and a passing score for the Level I CFA Exam, CIPM® Program Level II Exam, RBA Netherlands exam, or the self-administered Standards of Practice exam or be an ASIP holder.

    Professional membership offers all the same benefits and voting rights while you continue progressing in your career. When you complete the CFA Program, you will automatically be upgraded to Charterholder membership.

    Absolutely. Many members start here and transition to Charterholder membership nce they’ve completed the CFA Program.
