Business Objective

Provide input into GIPS Standards guidance for OCIOs being developed by CFA Institute. Help identify the requirements within the GIPS Standards for Firms that are challenging to apply to the OCIO business. Assist with the creation of a Consultation Paper.

Volunteer Impact

Members are responsible for providing input into the development of GIPS standards guidance for Outsourced Chief Investment Officers (OCIOs) being developed by CFA Institute.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities

Volunteers will serve as members of the GIPS Standards for OCIOs Working Group, a temporary volunteer body, under the supervision of the GIPS Standards Technical Committee. They will provide input into the development of GIPS standards guidance for OCIOs being developed by CFA Institute, and will assist with the creation of a Consultation Paper. The Working Group will be responsible for determining what is the most meaningful way to present OCIO performance. The Working Group will not be responsible for writing the actual requirements. Nominees should have a minimum of 5 years of experience related to the OCIO business. The time commitment for this role is monthly conference calls, with significant time for document review and preparation for meetings. CFA Institute members can earn Professional Learning (PL) Credit Hours for volunteer service on this working group (i.e., 8 CE Hours, 2 SER Hours).

The time commitment is expected to be significant for this role, with monthly conference calls and time for document review and conference call preparation.

Volunteer External Experience

Nominees should have a minimum of 5 years of experience related to the OCIO business. This Working Group will include representatives from various industry stakeholder groups to ensure a breadth of perspectives are represented. CV or résumé required.
