CFA Institute Account Policy

A single CFA Institute account is required for all interactions related to our products, programs, and services. This account serves as your official record and is associated with a unique CFA Institute ID.

Your account may not be created for, transferred to, shared with, or used by another individual.

The following activities are prohibited, including but not limited to:

  • Creating or maintaining multiple CFA Institute accounts.
  • Creating an account on behalf of another individual.
  • Using an account created by another individual.
  • Creating or using multiple accounts for any reason, including to:
    • Register for multiple programs or certificates.
    • Reset exam attempts or circumvent limitations on exam attempts.
    • Restart participation in the CFA® or CIPM® Programs.
    • Submit multiple scholarship applications.
    • Bypass restrictions or holds on an existing account.

CFA Institute reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or close accounts that violate this policy and to cancel associated registrations, applications, or other transactions, as appropriate.

If you are experiencing issues accessing your account, please contact CFA Institute for assistance rather than creating a new account.
