CFA Institute Reports Results for CFA Program Level III Testing in November

New York City, United States 03 Feb 2022

CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, announces that of 16,186 candidates worldwide who sat for the Level III CFA® Program exam in November, 43 percent have passed, completing their final CFA Program exam and becoming eligible to become CFA charterholders pending verification of professional experience. All candidates will be notified of their results today.

Marg Franklin, CFA, President & CEO, CFA Institute comments:

“My heartfelt congratulations to everyone receiving news of their Level III success. Your accomplishments are remarkable given the uncertainties of the past two years and the resulting study schedule adjustments that many of you have had to navigate. I look forward to meeting you as you build your careers and your participation in the CFA charterholder network.”

To become a charterholder, a candidate must pass all three examination levels of the CFA Program, be a regular member of CFA Institute, and meet the work experience requirement. Currently, more than 175,000 investment professionals worldwide hold the CFA charter.

“I recognize that today’s news will be disappointing for some,” continued Franklin. “This is the last stage of a tough journey under the best of circumstances, and I hope candidates will stay encouraged and focused.”

Candidates for the November Level III CFA Program exams attended in person at one of 565 proctored computer-based examination venues located in 325 cities in 98 markets worldwide. Global-level pass rate information and historical data can be found at the following link: Exam Results and Pass Rates.

Peg Jobst, Managing Director, Credentialing at CFA Institute comments:

“We are continuing to make great strides in seating candidates who have experienced an exam deferral due to the pandemic. We understand how important it is for candidates to maintain study momentum and to stay on schedule with their exams as far as conditions allow. Our research shows that the longer the gap between sitting for exams, the lower the chances for success. This has often been beyond anyone’s control. We urge candidates to try to stay on schedule if at all possible. We continue to strive to keep to our stated schedule to the extent that local public health regulations allow and as conditions permit.”

The CFA curriculum is recognized by employers around the world for providing candidates with a foundational and professional competence in investment analysis, portfolio management and wealth planning – all deeply rooted in a framework of ethical behaviors and decision-making.

“We continue to evolve the CFA Program to meet the knowledge and skill requirements of individuals entering the investment industry,” Jobst said. “In doing so we draw on experienced practitioners from both within and outside of the CFA Institute membership in developing the curriculum – as we have since the program’s inception in 1963.”
