CFA Institute Honors Four Outstanding Investment Professionals at Upcoming Events
CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals that sets the standard for professional excellence, has announced the recipients of its annual CFA Institute Awards: Don M. Chance, PhD, CFA (Outstanding Contribution to CFA Institute Education Programs Award, in honor of C. Stewart Sheppard), Jean-Guy Desjardins, CFA (Award for Professional Excellence), Brian D. Singer, CFA (Distinguished Service Award, in honor of Alfred C. “Pete” Morley), and Lindsay P. Tomlinson, FSIP (Leadership in Professional Ethics and Standards of Investment Award, in honor of Daniel J. Forrestal III) for their outstanding contributions to the financial industry.

Award presentation events will be held throughout May, June and July at events in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom:
Don M. Chance, PhD, CFA, James C. Flores Endowed Chair of MBA Studies & Professor of Finance, who has been published in academic and practitioner journals, and authored the book Analysis of Derivatives for the CFA Program, will receive the Outstanding Contribution to CFA Institute Education Programs Award, in honor of C. Stewart Sheppard, at an awards dinner on May 18 in Chicago, for his dedicated efforts toward continuing education in our profession. Dr. Chance has been a key contributor to CFA Exam & Curriculum Development for 15 years.
Jean-Guy Desjardins, CFA, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Fiera Capital Corporation, will receive the Award for Professional Excellence at the CFA Society Montreal Forecast Dinner on June 11 in Québec, for his exemplary achievement and excellence of practice. In his years in the investment profession, Desjardins has made a lasting mark with true leadership inspiring growth and reflecting honor upon the investment profession.
Brian D. Singer, CFA, partner & head of the Dynamic Allocation Strategies Team at William Blair & Company and former chair of the CFA Institute Board of Governors, will receive the Distinguished Service Award, in honor of Alfred C. “Pete” Morley, at the 2015 Financial Analyst Seminar on July 20 in Chicago, for his exceptional stewardship and outstanding service to CFA Institute. Singer is a current member of the Research Foundation Board. He has held roles on the CFA Institute Candidate Curriculum Committee, Financial Analysts Seminar Board of Regents and editorial board of the Financial Analyst Journal.
Lindsay P. Tomlinson, FSIP, former Chief Executive at BlackRock Advisors (UK) Limited, will receive the Leadership in Professional Ethics and Standards of Investment Award, in honor of Daniel J. Forrestal III, at an awards presentation on May 5 in London, for his role in championing the pursuit of excellence in professional ethics and standards of practice and advocating for the integrity and competence of our profession. Tomlinson has contributed to the development of the financial services industry through membership of a range of relevant industry bodies, such as the SFMI Advisory Council and the CFA Advocacy Committee.
The CFA Institute Awards embody the mission of the organization to lead the investment profession globally by promoting the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence for the ultimate benefit of society.
