CFA Institute Reports Results for CIPM® Program Testing in March
CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, announces today the results for the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) examinations, which were administered during the period 16-31 March 2025.
Of 156 candidates who sat for the Level I CIPM examination in March, 40 percent have passed. Of 157 candidates who sat for the Level II CIPM examination in March, 36 percent have passed. Successful Level II candidates will receive their CIPM designation upon successful verification of professional experience and CFA Institute membership requirements. All candidates will be notified of their results today.
Chris Wiese, CFA, Managing Director of Education at CFA Institute, comments:
“Congratulations to all successful CIPM candidates on your achievement. The CIPM designation represents a powerful credential for professionals seeking to lead in investment performance and risk evaluation. Transparency and accountability are core tenets of the investment industry, and the CIPM program equips individuals with the specialized skills needed to uphold these principles. With more than 1,700 organizations worldwide adopting the Global Investment Performance Standards, which are at the heart of the CIPM Program, successful candidates are uniquely positioned to deliver on these standards — making them trusted professionals across the global investment landscape.”
To earn the CIPM designation, a candidate must pass two exams, become a member of CFA Institute and attest to ethical guidelines, the Codes and Standards each year, meet professional experience requirements, and maintain a minimum of 15 credits of continuing education annually. CFA® Charterholders and candidates who have successfully completed Level III of the CFA Program may proceed directly to Level II of the CIPM Program if they so choose.
Candidates for the March 2025 Level I and Level II CIPM exams attended in person at a proctored examination venue in one of 44 markets worldwide. The next CIPM examination window is scheduled for September 2025.
New Scale Score for CIPM Candidates
CIPM candidates now receive a score report that includes a scale score – an overall numeric result that enables candidates to see how well they performed compared to the Minimum Passing Score. Read more about the scale score here.
