CFA Institute Reports Results for CIPM® Program Testing in September

5 November, 2026
New York City United States

CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, announces today the results of the September 2026 Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM®) examinations.

Of 171 candidates who sat for the Level I CIPM examination in September, 33 percent have passed. Of 143 candidates who sat for the Level II CIPM examination in September, 44 percent have passed. All candidates will be notified of their results today.

Chris Wiese, CFA, Managing Director of Education at CFA Institute, comments:

“Well done to all candidates celebrating a pass in their CIPM exam today. Making time for studies alongside work, family, and other commitments takes focused effort, and we hope you take pride in this achievement. Through the CIPM Program you are building the expertise and judgement to assess investment performance and help investors understand reporting that is clear, accurate, and globally consistent in its presentation.”

“The CIPM curriculum takes candidates through the whole performance measurement process, from calculating and attributing returns, to appraising results, presenting them fairly, and selecting managers, with ethics at the core. Graduates come away with a strong understanding of the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®) and the ability to put those standards into practice. That makes it a distinctive qualification for anyone building an international career: organizations from 51 markets have adopted the GIPS standards, and employers worldwide value professionals who understand international reporting standards.”

Candidates for the September 2026 Level I and Level II CIPM exams attended in person at a proctored examination venue in one of 44 markets worldwide. The next CIPM examination window is scheduled for March 2027.

Successful Level II candidates will receive their CIPM designation upon verification of professional experience and CFA Institute membership requirements. This includes attesting to ethical guidelines, the CFA Institute Codes and Standards each year, and maintaining a minimum of 15 credits of continuing education annually.
