CFA Institute Reports Results for CIPM® Program Testing in March
CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, announces today the results of the March 2026 Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM®) examinations.
Of 180 candidates who sat for the Level I CIPM examination in March, 31 percent have passed. Of 177 candidates who sat for the Level II CIPM examination in March, 44 percent have passed. All candidates will be notified of their results today.
Chris Wiese, CFA, Managing Director of Education at CFA Institute, comments:
“Congratulations to everyone who passed their CIPM exam. We recognize the level of commitment and discipline required to succeed in these advanced studies while balancing professional and family responsibilities. In studying for the CIPM Program, candidates develop the technical skills and professional judgment needed to evaluate investment performance, apply globally recognized standards, and communicate investment results with clarity and integrity.”
Successful Level II candidates will receive their CIPM designation upon verification of professional experience and CFA Institute membership requirements. This includes attesting to ethical guidelines, the CFA Institute Codes and Standards, each year, and maintaining a minimum of 15 credits of continuing education annually. CFA® charterholders or candidates who have successfully completed Level III of the CFA Program may proceed directly to Level II of the CIPM Program if they so choose.
Candidates for the March 2026 Level I and Level II CIPM exams attended in person at a proctored examination venue in one of 50 markets worldwide. The next CIPM examination window is scheduled for September 2026.
The CIPM Program was created to support investment professionals with a rigorous understanding of global standards for accuracy, integrity, and transparency in evaluating and presenting investment results.
Chris Wiese, CFA, adds:
“Successful graduates of the CIPM exams develop a strong understanding of the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®), which provide a globally recognized framework for presenting investment results. The GIPS standards are used by more than 1,600 organizations worldwide, in a shared commitment to consistent, comparable, and transparent investment performance reporting across the industry.”
