CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, today announces its Board of Governors, effective 1 September 2025, for the new fiscal year.
Marshall Bailey, CFA, has been re-elected and will continue in his role as Chair of the Board of Governors through the end of FY2026, at which point he will complete his service as Chair and as a Board member. Tricia Rothschild, CFA, has been elected to serve as Vice Chair. In addition, the Board of Governors welcomes one newly elected member, Kyung wook Hur, CFA, and two current governors for a second term, Oyebanji Fehintola, CFA, and Mei Gao, CFA. Board members were elected by the membership at the Annual Meeting of Members on 22 July.
“CFA Institute is focused on expanding the global influence of our programs, evolving our professional learning portfolio with a further focus on skills, and elevating the role of ethics and standards in an increasingly complex financial landscape,” said Marshall Bailey, CFA, Chair of the Board of Governors. “To deliver on this ambitious agenda, we need thoughtful and experienced leaders around the Board table. This Board brings the range of expertise, regional insight, and strategic clarity required to move our mission forward. I’m especially pleased to welcome Kyung wook Hur to the Board and congratulate Oyebanji Fehintola and Mei Gao on their re-election, as well as Tricia Rothschild on her election as Vice Chair. We are grateful for their commitment to the profession and our organization.”
“The investment profession is undergoing fundamental change, from the impact of AI to sustainability, private markets, and evolving client needs,” said Margaret Franklin, CFA, President and CEO of CFA Institute. “We are deeply appreciative of each governor for their time, insight, and unwavering dedication, all of which they contribute on a volunteer basis. Their leadership enables us to deliver on our mission and support the global investment community.”
Incoming Vice Chair Tricia Rothschild has served on the CFA Institute Board of Governors since 2019 and previously held the position of Vice Chair in FY2022 and FY2023. Her experience with CFA Institute, as well as with mission-oriented organizations across industries, makes her highly qualified to serve in this position.
First-time Board member Kyung wook Hur, CFA, is a public policy and finance expert with more than three decades of experience. Hur has served as 1st Vice Minister of Strategy and Finance for the Republic of Korea, Ambassador to the OECD, and in senior roles at the IMF and World Bank. He is currently Senior Advisor to Bae Kim & Lee LLC and Chairperson of the Seoul Financial Forum. He is a founding member of CFA Society Korea and is the first CFA Institute Board member from Korea. His broad international experience and leadership in financial regulation will bring a valuable perspective to the Board.
