This past year has shown us that the COVID virus moves fast, affects regions in different ways, and causes governments to introduce restrictions that change over time. However, many government lockdowns do contain provisions that allow educational testing to continue, and computer-based test centers can be modified to meet other pandemic restrictions.

Ontario

As of 26 April, registered May candidates in Ontario will receive an email explaining that they may choose to defer the exam to the November exam administration. Please note that due to the global disruption caused by COVID, we cannot accommodate additional candidates into earlier exam windows.

If you do not hear that your exam has been impacted, you should assume it will take place as scheduled. Based on our experience, we know it is futile to guess which restrictions will be in place more than a few weeks ahead of time. That is why we have this plan in place.

There will be a review of testing feasibility in all cities in early May.

No action is required at this time. It is not necessary to contact us to confirm your appointment. Please understand that the CFA Institute Customer Care department does not have scheduling information and will be unable to resolve scheduling questions.
